sts sampler low memory problem

Post by bassdude »

Anyone seen this before:-

I am trying to load a small program (4MB) into any of the sts samplers and I get a "low memory" error and program does not load. Only have sts sampler and mixer in project window and sts sampler shows about 1 GB memory free.

Tried to load a nother program and get same result. Seems like it just does not want to load any program no matter what size or how much memory is free.

If I try to create a new program I get "Low memory ???0000" and it bombs out.

how much physical memory do you have installed, what mobo and OS ?
STS programming seems rather old (imho), it may not 'see' all the memory.
To give you an example: I remember a time where I had to load M$ Word as the first application, otherwise it would run out of memory, even if plenty of that stuff was installed ;)

I have 1 GB installed. I'm thinking it maybe an incompatibility with Windows Server 2003.

And just now I tried running scope in XP compatability mode and it works fine. Problem solved. Thanks.

well, what else but spot-on action would you expect from a real bassplayer, a wannabe-bassplayer and an ex-bassplayer in one single thread ? :D

cheers, Tom
