Help with GPO & Kontakt Player 2 please?

Post by Neil B »

I've recently bought Garritan Personal Orchestra which is bundled with Kontakt Player 2 and I run this within Cubase 32/5.1

I'm having trouble sorting out the outputs etc.

What I want to do is to have each instrument - for the sake of argument, let's say 8 tracks of GPO - assigned to different channel strips in my CUbase mixer.

Unfortunately, using the output routing in KOntakt Player, I get really confused.
There is ST1 & 2, surround channels and also lots of unassigned channels.
I accept that I can create a new output channel on the outputs mixer, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get these onto a different Cubase mixer channel.
I consistently get the message "close all plug-ins" etc.

When I look at my cubase mixer, having loaded GPO/KP2 there are loads of unassigned channels on the mixer - all mono too.

Perhaps it's my feeble brain, but I'm totally confused.
Any help will be more than welcome and consider yourself to be hugged
:-? :-? :-? :-? :-?

Here Ya' Go.

Try Support and Technical.

If you search under GPO Cubase, there are several problems which have underlined answers.

For any others with this problem, I found this on the GPO forum

The easy way to deal with it is to unzip this file into your ~\Kontakt Player 2\default (or ~\Kontakt 2\default) folder (before you start your sequencer). It will install new default output configurations for the DXi (16 stereo outs) and VSTi (16/8/4 stereo outs) plugins. If you made any customized output configuratins yourself, you might want to back up the default folder before installing the new configurations. In your sequencer you should select the KP2/K2 audio channels, that are named "... st. #: stereo". Forget about the "Main" and "Primary" channels (if you see them).
The link is

and it works for me with Cubase 32/5/1
