to keep it simple. I send a signal to an effect via aux 1. the return signal is coming in on mixer channel 2. on mixer channel 2 i send again on aux 1.
this results in a phase error i think. i hear a faint sine wave.
How do i fix that? I know this can be done without any problems on an analog mixer.
the complex version:
i recently visted my uncle. He had a dynacord vrs 25 hooked up to his analog mixer.. we played around and it sounded amazing!!
the trick was to route, lets say, a synth to the mixer, route it out via an aux to the analog delay. Then return the delay on another channel ( as you normally do), and then, on the delay-return channel, alter the EQ settings, and send the delay-returned signal via the aux to the delay again... This would cause the delay to oscillate in a way cool way, unlike tape echoe's....
so i bought the same dynacord vrs 25, thinking i could do the same at home.. so i tried the scopes' virtual mixer instead of a real one.. BUT ALAS!!

I can do the trick, but i get a phase error ( because of the latency i think).. i get the echo, but also a slight ringing tone.. classic phase error sound.
I have experimented with the "external effects" but it wont cure the problem.
any ideas? can this be done in cubase 4?? ( i mean, sending a signal to an fx aux, ( the delay) and then on the fx aux track, send to the SAME fx aux again??.
thanks!
