Dumb Question 137 (step seq)

Post by Me$$iah »

Ok.

I have been enjoying using all the wonderful synths that have been built in modular. Well yesturday it reached a point where I needed to build somthing.
Ive never done this before, but I thought 'this is gonna be easy'

Turns out, I dont understand how it works at all. :-?

I am after all just a simple guitarist :P

So could someone help please??

All I wanted to do was to build a simple modular which pushed out a step sequence, so I could fire the Prodessey.
I tried a hundred different ways ...... and nothing...

Damn my stupidity

So can anyone post a screenshot of how I can build a simple step sequncer, like the one on the SB404. Which will drive other synths.

Thank you

if you want to trigger an external (= not Modular) synth by the Modular sequencers, you can do that by using Wolf's val2control and val2note modules. works pretty well and looks like this:

disadvantage: it is a 3rd party module & you have to buy it. but I think wolf is happy to give it to you for little money: http://wolf-audio.com

In the old days I made this patch, it had a built in way to control note lengths, you might give it a try, all 3rd p.modules are free:

Awesome... thanks guys..

It is more complicated than I thought...

I figured it would just be Midi in- Ctrl Seq2 - Midi out.

But obviously that didnt werk...

Hehe... i guess I have a hatload more learning to do with this modular system.

I will try these out.

And heres the bugger of a qusestion.....
Why have you wired these thing like so, what does each 'bit' do?
I'd love to understand this

thanks again

EDIT: After perusing around Wolf site, I see there are step sequencers for sale right there. I guess I could cut out the learning curve and buy a ready made device.....hmm descisions ..... Tho I think I know how this one will turn out.
