Arturia Origin using TigerSHARCs

Post by Ben Walker »

Just watched the demo for Arturia's new Hardware synth, Origin.

On the details page it mentions that they are using 2 TigerSHARCs. Nicely implemented user interface.

If I had silly money I'd rather have a Solaris.

Speaking of which, anyone going to NAMM - John will be there, with a prototype Solaris.

Probably true as most people seem to be unable to hear how bland those Arturia synths sound. Tried the demos of Minimoog and the Modular - didn't like them at all.

Why does Arturia get rave reviews if they sound bad?

Check out the ASB prices at Musicians Friend:

Well i saw rave reviews of the Spice Girls too, didn't make them any better. Popularity is no measure of quality.

Anyway i didn't say they sound bad - they just lack a certain 'life' for me. Also i have seen fairly negative reviews too. Personally when it comes to VSTi then GMedia do it for me. Arturia seem to reuse the same code for non-related devices (like the ARP), whereas GMedia code for each device (hence the long wait for new releases).
