Roland M1000 - or whatever

Has anyone ever used this gear? It will let you plug in 5 different SPDIF sources into one module and automagically takes care of syncing issues. The reason I'm asking is because they seem to have discontinued this module and there is nothing else I can find on the market that does this sort of thing (for under $1k). I have a number of SPDIF sources that I would like to monitor simultaneously, but I find myself unplugging one and plugging in another. Is there any gear (as I said, i don't have thousands of dollars to spend) that will accomplish this?
