Problem with Asio 1 Fit Source/Dest 64 and Cubase SX

Post by SonicTransportSystem »

Hi to everyone at Planet Z,

I read on the SFP manual that if you are recording with cubase at 32 Bit Float the best Scoope drivers will be Asio 1 Fit Source/Dest 64 . So i made a project with 20 chanells Asio 1 Fit Source/Dest 6 and when i connected a vst inst in cubase, on the vst outpouts mixer one of the chanels get clipping without sound, it seems those drives send somethig for cubase for the chanell start clipping without sound. This happens when i connect a vst and try to play with him, i think that with an audio track the same will happen.
When i change to normal asio drives the problem stops.

If somebody have any idea why this happens please say something

Thanks
Pedro

Personally i would use the ASIO2 modules in all instances and see if you still have a problem. As well as the Flt modules try the 24 bit source (if your Cubase project is 24 bit of course) as this may reduce PCI communication bandwith - why use 32 bit modules if you have 24 bit data? i understand you are using 32 bit, but what you gain in computer performance using 24 bit might be more beneficial than any audio advantage in using 32 bit. It's worth a try anyway just to see if you get the same problems.

I found ASIO2 24 bit best, and Cubase SX and C4 are all 24 bit +8. ..Not :-?
