I've just read that some mobos have probs with SATA drives because they use "virtual PCI busses" which interfere with IRQs.
DO the Intel boards have these probs?
I have ASUS p4p 800se and have just added a SATA drive.Would this board interfere with the PCI bus?
Thanks
SATA and mobos

I have ASUS P4P800 with 2 SATA HDD's from WD installed and I haven't run into any problems.
I just needed to find a PCI slot for my primary Scope card (PowerPulsar in my system) that does not share IRQ with other devices. And even when I did have it sharing IRQ with my Adaptec SCSI card, it worked fine in my system.
I have ULLI set at 7ms @ 44.1Khz. When I do set it any lower, I do get crackles & pops but I'm pretty sure that's not related to my SATA drives since it was the same way before when I ran the system only with a PATA HDD.
Then again, with so many variants with MB's these days, you never know.
