Well they have caught my attention.
They described the tweaks I use to do to make the OBX really FAT.
I would open it up and take an Oscillascope to detune the trimpots on the voice cards. The key tech for Getty Lee showed me how to do this.
Good Key Tech's always had the tricks back in the analog days. Overdrive tips for the Hammond, and Leslie 147's, close mic techniques on the lower baffles and horns, etc. I always hung out w/ the tech's, as I was a babe in the woods back then. Nowadays key tech's all act like they are Gods as they push a button for start, stop, and locate. Oh Boy !!
I had a sound man once who used 2 x Roland Space Echo's, and a Teac 4 Track Tape Deck. He would actually use his grimy fingers on the Teac and make the most phenominal loops and delays, while the Roland's did their thing.
Meanwhile Back At The Ranch...........................................
Thanks Stardust.
OBX clone for Reaktor 5 and vst
As usual, VSTi hype.
CWerner did a damn fine job for not having the real electric voice cards.

For all Reaktor users, I am sure with some time effort, you can find an earlier version of this VST in the Reaktor forum, as a Reaktor ensemble, search for obx.
Anyway as usual, a good sounding synth needs less processing a bad sounding one needs some more attention but both can sound great. I liked what I had heard from the vst, because Oberheim Synth clones are rare.
