how would you make this sound in mod2? ( the sound clips 00:45 to the end. ignore the first 44 seconds :D )
i have tried alot of things, but cant really get close.. it is the same sound used on many sparklehorse sounds on "its a wonderful life".. i love that sound

my guess is that its a s&h with a slew thingy on the output, controlling the freq of a filter with a noise on the filters input, but it doesnt really seem to do the trick!

i love noise makers, so if you can , please help me out :)
as i said its the sound of the last 5-6 seconds im trying to "copy" not the first 44 seconds..

thanks!

Sounds to me like a random lfo modulating an oscillator's frequency. There does seem to be slew going on. If you listen to the last part of the example where the modulation slows down, the tone sounds like a sawtooth wave that's been filtered a bit.

Hi,

you could experiment with something like these (the second option if you like complications).

I'm instead wondering about the voice in the clip...

Sorry, the second patch uses ModIII modules RandomPulseGen and Compare AX.

It escaped me at first read you're using version 2.

thanks

thanks anyway! i get the point with the modular 3 setup.( but not the modules  ).. maybe i can fiddle around and make a similar setup with mod2, or use the more simple version..
thank you very much! :D

I used a sine OSC for check it out, but it could sound better using other waveforms or a resonant filter modulated directly by the random signal generator, as you said.

Parameters setting is not that easy, however, even with the sine config. It tends to bark...

What about the voice?
