Scope name change?

Post by skwawks »

I was thinking that maybe Scope is due for a name change , I've got a few suggestions
" SCOPE CONUNDRUM - you work it out smartarse"

" PLATFORM THIRTEEN and a HALF - try running through this wall"
or maybe

" BE NICE TO JOHN and NESTOR-without Z you're fucked"
what do you reckon

No Hu...no problems.... computer delights is more like it ,although I know that 's a situation that can change at any time . It's just that this platform always seems to be a combination of absolute excellence combined with what can be a difficult journey to a solution that you know IS there ,but , basically I wouldn't change a thing .
I just got the mesa boogie and the ampeg sims not because I was in any way dissatisfied with Celmos great sims but because I was just plain jack of having to configure the midi control every time I fired them up .At this point I'm expecting some bright spark to say ...oh well you do that this way  .
When I got the mesa boogie going it installs as a plug ....the first thing I saw once I got over the dirty nasty bitchin sound was there was no midi input and I thought this CANT be right and sure enough after trawling through Z some wonderful human being pointed out you move the sucker to mono fx and then you can insert it wherever it feels appropriate to insert it and you can get the midi in that way and funnily enough I have never up to that point had the need to run midi through the mixer . So the situation right now is I've got more great git sounds ,I've opened up the possibility of midi control through the mixer and there's just a slight possibility that I may even have succesfully saved the config . It's just SWEET JESUS please make something easy for me shortly .......you know what I mean  But I guess that's like being screwed by a honey and asking her to take her elbow out of your ribs.
Anyway I haven't really explored the ampeg yet but I am really looking forward to it . I'm not sure when the eagle flies again but when he does I dont know whether I'll go for the fender over the marshall but I will be saying can I have some more please sir.
On a different subject ,that stones dvd I liked over on the movie preference it is truly outstanding and that newish bass player they got not only does he totally get the stones, he is a MUTHA ,and the backup chick that does The night time is the right time ,well I'm not all that into plump chicks , but I'm right fucking into her :o let me tell you and I'm far too old for that sort of thing . that song alone is worth the admission
Cheers mate

Just be glad when you get it working because Creamware is too busy to be bothered with such trivial matters as customer satisfaction.

The "mypage" has been removed. Good luck communicating with Creamware about anything because they don't speak English well.

If you pay to transfer a bunch of keys, they will make mistakes because the way they set it up is too complicated.

Once again as we see in many corporations, wacky and complicated DRM is more important to them than a smooth and pleasant user experience.

While I understand the frustration I have to admit that I never had any problems communicating with Creamware, which I did in english.

Be fair to them, I honestly don't think they aim to displease any of their customers.

The way I look at it is that I have this abandoned "relic" in my studio and I'm damn lucky because she does all these cool things when I treat her right :)

S/pdif

If they have an answer, they may reply but if not, they ignore you. A case in point is s/pdif not working.

The Body Of Ralf Has Just Left The Building.

I suggest to anyone, as CW did when they released the SDK to everybody, do it yourself, or bribe DAS, SpaceF, Wolf, or others.

I had a minor glitch w/ my B2003's drawbars not being totally precise when moved, SpaceF to the rescue. I also had the problem of my rotary speed ( the emu of course ) having to be fired up and manually adding the CC to control the fast / slow everytime, as it was not stored in the MIDI Controller presets. DJ Micron to the rescue. It even came back to me with the B2003 saying JimmyV on it !! ..........................................................A Major Woody.

These little rescues were also free of charge. Perhaps my charming personality was key to the solution. But sometimes, even I must break into the vault for some nickels, and dimes to achieve the desired results. If CW is ignoring, and misunderstanding some emails. Tell me what you want, maybe I can help as Ralf answers my emails everytime. It also helps when kissing some ass, to put the booty right in front of your smackers.

I owe this forum alot, and always give a small fee annually, as it is our home made customer service.

Hey Jimmy I'm not putting the boot in here ,like I said I wouldn't change a thing . To me the beauty of scope is that it was created by enthusiasts for enthusiasts and that means great things and also a fairly relaxed attitude ,it seems to me if you wanna play with scope you're gonna have to think and search z quite a lot because that how it is .
That Said the manual that comes with scope sucks big time.... it represents the philosophy of giving the user lots and lots of theoretical info but what it doesn't do is take the user through lots of different likely scenarios the user will want to do and I think that that is a much better way of teaching because although you might say it discourages thinking it gives the user a bit of a leg up on the broad picture and from there I reckon insights just pop up eventually.. as I said in my first name change , "you work it out smartarse" I think it's easier to work it out if you can see the procedures step by step . Theres nothing with the mesa boogie that says if you want midi control move it to fx mono but by the same token I haven't seen in the manual where it says btw you could shove these devices anywhere you like and see if it works ,well now I know you can but what i'm saying is it aint intuitive is it ,and the thing is I just dont go to the manual anymore because it simply NEVER helps ,it's one of those manuals that makes pefect sense when you know everything but is friggin useless when you're trying to find out something
Anyway I dont think Ralf is leaving the building anytime soon but if he does I'll just have to sing him a song by an aussie band called Mental as anything..."IF YOU LEAVE ME, CAN I COME TOO" :)

Right On My Brotha',
When I first started using SFP, it was the first time I ever touched a computer. So when seeking help here, guys already assumed I was knowledgable, when I couldn't even do an email !! It was a tough 2 years, and you are right, the manual sucks major cock.

All Of Us Are The Manual !!

SOS, and Computer Music were ecstatic about Scope so I went to a local store, and before I could even demo or hear it, I had to buy a computer and build it in a rack, etc. It's amazing they even sold any cards. But the magazines did mention that anything about " Pulsar " could be found at the Z. After reading everybody's comments, and then finding out that J. Bowen was here developing. I took the dive, and have never turned back.

I Surely Hope That SonicCore realizes that their whole community practically frequents here, and send a roll of nickels to John Cooper......................................................................every frickin' hour, eveyday, every year !!!

And When The Body Of Ralf Leaves The Building, He Sneaks Around And Comes In The Back Door.

BTW, I was clocked by WJ at 112 words a minute !! I can also roll a really fast ass trackball as well. So old DAWg's, can learn new tricks.
