Eye Water Remix featuring Pharell Williams
1st track in the playlist
style? err....
warning, politically oriented track.

There is a big remix things happening in the Cassius Workshops (see the friend list for links), if you want to do yours.

Track analysis:
============

- recorded/ mixed in FP8 (forthcoming mixer)
- Fat on most channels and on the master output
- Guitar amps: Guitar Rig amps and reversed delays: sampled and send to a stereo track with FAT and SlapBack delay.
- Voices: accapella from Cassius + FAT + Limiter+ PsyQ+ Masterverb in aux

----- Synths:
- Bass: Biosc 4 (2 microscope osc, filter 1 = LP, filter 2 = Ice, for the added dimension and added basses)
- Strings: lightwave (based on super strings presets, heavily modified)
- Sequencer: Minimax+ SSB Phaser and prisma
- backing melodies: Imposcar, B2003

----- Drums:
- snares/kick/toms: plugsound drums & percs
- hats and metals: battery 2 , various kits

Aux effects:
Masterverb pro.

Grouped/quickly mixed in Cubase SX2 and mixed on FP8 (6 stereo channels only)

---- Clicks on the voice: from the accapella (possibly also freely provided by MySpace player).

Mastering (big word, let's call it normalizing and limiting)
- 1st pass: FAT , middle position, *2
- 2nd pass: FAT (minimal setting, *1) + Limiter (slight, to cut 1 or 2 occasional peaks) + Optimaster

Quickly remixed, but not that bad...

enjoy

I like it better than the original (though I didnt like the original all that much), very professional sounding

I have to say I liked the track Aujord'hui on your myspace ten times as much, this is fantastic, rapping sounds good in French, what is the vocalist talking about?

i'm far from being a fan of the original too (it's too conceptual for me, eventhough i think it reaches its goal, if any)... but that's where is the challenge :-)

Thanks for "Aujourd'hui" . I'm not totallly happy with the lyrics but Christophe has a good voice and beleif. What he says is basically that it is not because you live in a sh*tty suburb that you have to do sh*t yourself... but with much more words and a bit more subtle :-) (it's a 3 page text....)

it's good that it does it when you don't understand though, so you can put your own feelings on what it makes you feel about ;-)
