I am using pitch shifter & want to change effect presets by midi, so I dont have to do it by hand everytime
if I load it in the main scope window it has no midi in or out, so that's no good
if I load it as an insert in stm2448, I thought (after reading the manual) I still might be able to get it to respond, after all the individual knobs can be assigned & will respond to CC messages, but it wont respond to program change messages (& yes I have checked all my routing & midi channel etc)
is there anyway to do this? (aside from assigning every necessary knob a CC & making them change to the preset values I want)
is there something I am missing?
change effect presets via midi
You'll need to assign the device a MIDI channel. I enter values on my controller which sucks, or waste an entire toggle switch or button to do it. I prefer having each effect controllable in real time, and use the program change options for synths instead.
Below is a portion of the M Audio KS88, I use 2 of them, but this is for my Gigastudio DAW w/ 2 x Scope Pro.'s, and 1 x Project. It has CW's Auto Pan for my Rhodes, SpaceF's bb-Synth FX, Celmos Pro Vintage Delay, SpaceF's CC5 for the selected drawbars on the B3, and SpaceF's custom FAT BASTARD FB5 Mixer is on the faders, not pictured was DAS's DynaPara EQ for Upright Clinton Piano samples, and anything acoustic for that matter. It's mid / side / mix knobs are awesome to use on different sample libraries live. The lowest row of buttons is for whatever synth is attached to the program changes stored there.
It's my all French controller, as everything I use here was made in France. It has no equal when used live or in the studio. My favorite developers are all from Europe. But this controller is an all French one 4 sure. These 3 developers are all " Top Shelf " IMHO.

All the effects loaded in a mixer save their status in a mixer preset. You have just to save a mixer preset when you change a loaded fx's preset or just move the knobs and then recall it. Every change made in the loaded fx has to be seen as a mixer's status. Also the load or unload of fx are stored in mixer's presets.
Great Idea !!
I never thought of that but know that it is correct.
You could save evrything to a preset in a mixer, and send program changes to that unit only, and still have the ability to tweak effects in real time via your favorite controller.
Damn, I use to do that w/ a Yamaha DMP7 back in '85 . It would store the internal effects ( but not the PCM70 ). Every song had a mix ( perfromance scene ), and one program change would reset the FX as well as changes on the keyboard too. Forgot all about that. It makes such perfect sense.
Thanks for thinking on a different level and sharing it with us Brotha' Man Alfonso.
Hell I might start doing that.

When I first got Scope I was excited about changing a project for each song, but the load time was killing me.
But I now have 2 x Scope /Giga DAW's I use live, and I could bounce from DAW to DAW doing just that. Since I read your post it made me re think my set up. I actually have duplicate synths on each DAW as well as effects and instruments in Giga also. I originally designed this to use as a spare DAW just in case, but since they never crash, I could load one and play one !!
I could use the Solaris hardware and SE-1x analog outside of Scope in my hardware mixer where evrything gets routed anyway.
This is great as I could use more synths that I passed on as there were only certain things they could do. For example, Celmos BlueWave has the best FM / Wave Electric Piano I ever heard, but since I have the 16 voice version, I opted to keep it out of my projects and sampled the preset. It was done in K2 for me but the original is much better. But those are the only kind of sounds from that synth that I like.
Wow, I must thank you for the smack in the face that brought me back to reality.
Sometimes the simplest solutions get over looked.
