I hardly watch television, but my schatzie flew in today and we are going to Tahoe for the weekend, and after a great sushi dinner at Osaka with 5 pints of Sake we were feeling no pain and always seem to enjoy each others company like our first date. So when we plopped down on our couch we were overtaken by a DVD she bought for me with all of the Ed Sullivan re runs and 3 Stooges, Frankie and Annette, and I really had a great time, especially since my little boy loves the Stooges and Janis too. It brought back memories as a child watching my mom dance around to the Beatles music when I was about 7 or 8 then. My father hated that music but tolerated it as my mommy was shakin' it for him. Little Scope4live has mastered his double eye poke block now thanks to Curly.
I can't express how much fun it is watching Elvis, the Beatles, Doors, Janis Joplin, Strawberry Alarm Clock, Hendrix lighting his guitar on fire at Monterey. WJ is always so supportive of anything I do, and is even catering for my rehearsal !! These guys love her, as I do as well. We shall sleep outside on the rocks 100 feet off of the shore under the moonlight, and wake up to the sunrise. Jump on the Sea Doo's and cross the lake to Sunnyvale for breakfast, and rehearse from 2 to 10, then off to the Airport and come back home.
I must admit that playing this music is literally changing me. I am wearing Bell Bottom jeans w/ those big shirts, and just love to rehearse with these young kids ( late 20's and 30's ), we rehearse for 6 to 10 hours until we are exhausted. I haven't played with such vigor since my fusion cover band, it is so rewarding and the Scope Psychedelic sounds make me want to do some Shoomz II. Why did he change his name ??
This whole idea of adding to the repertoire of all psych bands has really started to roll as I even had a blast doing some Jefferson Airplane Ala White Rabbit. I love watching Wilma spin around like she was at a Dead Concert. And Kelly the singer is so mesmorizing, she really is the best vocalist I ever heard hands down.
Assafs Flexor III does the best Gibson G101, Vox, and Farfisa all with those cheesy drawbars and vibratos, and adding Prowave Wave sweeping and polysynth sounds is making doing covers so much fun. This has been a great summer, and will be another great year musically for me.
