I have o old / geration one pulsar system + SRB.
(4 DSP + 4 DSP)
works fine, bit It doesn´t have the ULI / low latency ASIO interface.
( In fact it does have, but delivers only 32 ms )
I like to change the main card with a scope project ( pulsar 2 / 6 DSP ) and to connect the old SRB as extension, so I would have a total of 10 DSP.
But:
- does this affect the ASIO latency when the old card is included ? Or is the very low latency only working when only newer boards are involved ?
- does this affect the PCI performance ? I found the old boards PCI performance is worse compared to the pulsar 2 boards.
Maybe anybody has a new / old combination an can help me ?

scope project (pulsar 2) + pulsar1 SRB - ASIO / ULI latency
as to asio latency, with at least one type2 card, you will have low latency regardless of what other cards are used.
as to pci usage, no the srb won't work as well as a type2, but it should be fine. i have a scope pro, a pulsar1 and a 4 dsp srb in my computer and problems are minimal to nonexistant. it all depends on how you use the cards. i only get 10 or so masterverbs instead of 15-20, but that's sufficient pci bandwidth for me.......

You shouldn't need to ditch your Pulsar1. Just add the new TypeII card (whatever version you choose to pay for) and make sure it's seen as the Master (through cset.ini or just by being the first IRQ 'seen') and then your SRB and Pulsar1 will be the 'slave' cards and working with the new ULLI settings available.
