Turkish PoGo - a BlackBox production

Post by spacef »

Hello,
If you like bits of ragga/reaggae mixed with different styles, here is a dancehall remix of a song by the french band Caïna, that i did for Space Bonobos , a year and a half ago approximately.

It is the first track here (Turkish Pogo).

It uses a fair amount of BlackBox synths and effects:
- originally mixed in an early version of MixSat C2, and recently quickly remastered in the FP8 mixer (still working on it) and using the "Fat-S" as a final mastering device (just to pump the volume up a bit). Problem was the original master was not made by someone who didn't knows much about dancehall stuff, and it was a bit light on the bass...
- Echo 35: is used for most delays in the song: the reverb on the alto sax is echo only, and so are all the spacey delay effects on piano and guitar. It is not used on the voices though (not sure it is cubase delay or something else).
- Wax with HighDrix is used on the guitar during the dubby bridge.
- The bass was reamped with Bass-T, including the bit with phaser at the end of the ragga bridge.
- DXD provided the bass during the percussion solo.

I hope you like
