Samplitude Headroom?

Post by Hangee_77 »

Hi,

I am using Samplitude8 to master my music.............I know that Sam has 6dB headroom but it is still not recommended to push any signal beyond 0dB.

However one of my music sounds good when I put the Sam Multiband Compressor (with the peak reaches about 3dB).............sounds warm, punchy, and no clipping too.

Do you think it is ok or should I limit back the signal so it won't pass 0dB?

As always trust your ears.
But be sure that you limit your signal to 0 db fs or aprox. -0.2 db fs when you use dithering, before you burn your music to a CD.

I actually have burned and listened to the result in the CD with the signal above 0dB. (used sam pow-r3 dither)
I am afraid if I limit the signal to below 0dB, is going to affect the sound.
