Alien Dreams ( Dynatube and jamstix)

Post by bosone »

This is a song inspired from Steve Vai song "die to live" from "Alien Love Secrets" album

i used jamstix for the drum part, coupled to Bob clearmountain sounds, except the snare which is from GSCW_DRUMS_Library_Vol.1

it still lacks a decend mixing and a solo in the middle part (beside the mastering).
my own comment to the mix are:
i should lower the cymbal volume and reverb
a little less reverb on the snare and on the guitar

beside jamstix, i played both the bass and the guitar, processed Creamware dynatube (both for guitar and for bass) whant do you think about the sound i achieved, expecially for the low-frequency range?

any comment is welcome! :-)

May i make a suggestion?
With the bass, why not play it with the accents of the kick and snare in mind rather than chug along on 8th's. It will help with making the rythym a lot tighter. Less really is more with regards bass in most situations. :)

There is a bit of boom happening around the lower mids too with the bass and guitar. You can really hear this around 2:15, but it's prettty much all through the track.
Stuart.
