XTC issues

Post by TPW »

Hi there everyone.

This is my first post in this group. Have just built a new computer for all my music-making merriment and a pulsar II is at the heart of it. Looking forward to learning a whole heap off everyone here.

Was looking for advice on the following issue.

I've just installed Cubase SX1 and re-installed Scope 4.0 to make the most of the XTC plugins. Unfortunately, two things are happening.

When I start cubase (without scope active of course) i get an error message when the startup scanner reaches the XTC plugins stating that 'XTC plug not properly installed' . I've since gone into the XTCproject file and tweaked a little, but the problem persists. Once I get into cubase however, I am able to access the XTC plugins (though I find the reliability to be poor...ie- stuck notes in the synths and crashing of computer). Something is amiss, but i am at a loss to fix it.

The problem is compounded when I open my copy of Gigastudio 3.0. During gigastudio startup, a dialogue box appears stating that one of the xtc delay plugins has caused gigastudio to crash. The dialogue box says that it will de-activate the selected plugin, but it still crashes anyway. Have tried removing said plugin only to have another delay plugin take its place as the cause of the crash.

Any suggestions? I had no problems before I installed the xtc plugins, but would like to be able to use them if possible to simplify my workflow.

Thanks in advance!!! :)
