New User - Hello

Hi there. I've been lurking on these boards since 1999 when I bought pulsar1 and SRB cards. I'd like to thank all the people that post their tips etc. I found them useful before and now with two years out of action I am using the boards again to see how to get these cards back up and running in XP with scope4 (Ralf already sent allkeys.sfk (thanks very much Ralf).

I found these cards excellent with no delay, mainly recording guitar tracks with outboard drums(DMPro) and Proteus2000 for keyboards. Example from 2001 at http://www.intimateaudio.com/audio_upload.D_Gwilym.html

Anyway, I've been looking here because I have AMD 2X64 (4200) which I'm dismayed to see can be problematic with Scope s/w. I'm grateful for the tips posted which I shall try.

Help - quite confused about the scope thing, Can I only run the "home" version with these older cards? Can I get the STM2448 mixer for this version or do I have to purchase? (funds very limited).

Anyway, thanks again to all here. I look forward to getting everything running.

Dann

Thanks for the reply Stardust - Yep, I have read in the forums about running single processor mode, it's a shame but still will beat my old Pentium2 + 512M.

Both cards I have would be 1st generation.

Windows deals with the dual processors, providing Windows is up to date,I can't see why there'd be any problem.

Thanks H, I will probably try running it with 2 procs to start with and go to 1 if there are problems.
