Elevator music

Post by paulrmartin »

Just sharing a bit of my irritation with myself... I simply have had no inspiration for the last couple of months and I am getting frustrated as hell. So, I go back to old formulae, trying out my Dynatubes (at least I have fun with those little gems).

Call this a mix and master study, trying to get a proper balance between the bass drum and bass without overshadowing everything else.

Any comments welcome :)

I like the mix as it is, suites the approach. though I did think the lead guitar was a little overpowering. The overall sound is rich and spacious.

Going a little r&b / hip hop on the drums might make a more modern sound. Also, the swing sounds almost pure triplet. A weaker swing might keep it from sounding too "new jack"-ish. I love this progression. The B part changes are awesome.

took some time to do a light groovy version..
