Question about routing..

Post by Miikka »

Hello!

Im not yet owner of any Scope Card (Thinking to be one soon..) and would like to ask a question, to which i didn't find answer by searching...

So , it goes like this:

I was thinking to buy E-mu 1820 soundcard (Mainly because the preamps and software package) and Scope Professional. And i'm wondering since E-mu has great mic-preamps and enough ins & out's for me, can i route them to the Scope like Scope's own inputs ?

Like for in example if i connect guitar to the E-Mu's Preamp, can it be routed to Scope and go thru Dynatube without latency?

Thanks so much for answers! :)
It's more fun to compute.

as nice as the emu package is, i really don't see it being any help with scope. there are pleny of vst effects around and the scope card come with a very competent set of dsp(zero latency realtime) effects. scope also handles zero latency routing. you can only use one asio driver at a time, so if you connect the two cards, it will be extrenally most likely. the emu has a sexier look and sales poop, but it's still consumer gear.

better to spend the money on a really nice mic pre instead. good gear is never a mistake. also don't forget to use a high quality cable like monster studio pro or zoalla. cable makes a bigger difference than you might think.

here's a suggestion on where to start looking for an inexpensive pro micpre(it's really nice. ) :
