Does anyone recognize these tunes (i'm not sure if they're jazz standards).
Or do you recognize the players? (The two may not be the same trio).

Recorded circa 1970.

The first one I am sure is the Bill Evans trio.

The second I have heard used in a commercial. The tap dancing should give the title away but I can't find it.

You're right, it sounds like them.

Any idea of the title or era? I'm listening through various Bill Evans Trio clips on amazon hoping to find a match.

Isn't there some kind of telephone service which you can call, play a few seconds of whatever tune you want to find out about and the service works out what it is?

Shazam it is:

Give it a try? :-)

Dunno about the first one, but the second is Dave Brubeck "unsquare dance"..

I recognised it... but had to ask shazam!

Unsquare Dance!! Great! Thanks!

Still trying to figure out that first song. I think it may not be Bill Evans afterall. I suspect that it's also Dave Brubeck.

Interesting service- shazam! I couldn't find a way on the website to identify a song. And it looks like the phone service is only available in the UK. Anyone wanna try it for me? :)

Cheers,
John

I found this free song identification program - tunatic, similar to shazam except you can do it from your computer instead of your phone:
http://www.wildbits.com/tunatic/

It identified Unsquare Dance, after I pitch corrected it up a semitone.
Very cool!

But it is not identifying the first tune.

Hm!
