DSP Loading / Distribution

Can I customise / optimise the way my project gets loaded ? I watch the DSP meter and notice than when large Solaris / ProWave projects get loaded, the DSP numbers spill over to other boards ( 3 x 15 DSP's ) and cause lack of connections from board 0 to board 2, and stuff like that. I never trusted that cheap little meter w/ the yellow bar, but the numbers that are listed seem to be a better way to follow the DSP loading across the boards. BTW they are all cabled up.
