Updating 3.1 to 4.5???

Post by Baertel »

Hello to everyone out here...

After a couple of nights reading the threads, I am even more confused:)

I've got some silly problems with my Pulsar-Cards. I veyy often get those "Copy Protection"-Messages. In fact, every secound time I open the Software. Pretty embaressing, when a customer sits next to you. I don't use any cracks on the Scope-plattform (are there any, btw?) But somehow, those Messages started to come. Now I don't even create new projects anymore, since they seldomly can be reloaded. I work with the 3.1. Version of Scope, because I didn't get the 4.5 Version handeled. It didn't accept my keys... (is it possible, that the installation-try caused the copyright-warnings?)

Well, now I want to have a full new start on it. What am I supposed to do?

Reinstall the whole system?
Can I leave everything untouched, except Scope?
Do I have to contact CWA to get propper keys?
Is the "Copyright-Warning" then history?

So, please help me out, I'll appreciate that very much and can give some routing tipps in return:)

Good Night, Baertel.

i would try reseating the cards in the slots first. also, cleaning the contacts with 99% or better alchohol might be a good idea. it's possible that the errors you are seeing are a sign of immenent hardware failure, but more likely it's just a maintainance issue.

Yeah, 3.1c was pretty solid - doubt you'd notice any difference upgrading (although you can get 4.0 for anyway, 4.5 is a payed upgrade).

Hey,

thanx for the replies.

I'll for shure do the cleaning of my cards. Had problems with the TDM-connectors, or however they call it, from time to time.

So, Mr Arkadin, you think, there is no need for an update? I would'Nt update for the new FX or plug in stuff. More because I experienced some bad behavior of the Big-Mixer. In example, when I assigne a midi-controller to the master-section (like the TB-Button or so...) It wount save those assignements with the Project. Also, when inserting plug ins (like compression or eqs) it's all back to zero, after reloading. My workaround is now, that I very seldomly turn of my pc-workstation.
Are these bugs fixed with the 4.0 Version?

(After many nights of reading in this forum I realized, that there is no way, to handle more than one midi-channel in one device, which is sad, but when you finally accept it, there are workarounds with using different mixers).

Well anyway, thanx again for the fast replays.

Viele Grüße, Baertel.
