Post by braincell »

This is a piece I am working on with all new sounds:

Vortex 9000 hardware synthesizer I created,
The Vortex Bass Vibrator (made from the parts of an aquarium pump)
Storm Drums,
Halion (Steinberg Rompler)

That's the next sounds for the Hummer commercial bro', nice visuals too.
The drums had a place of their own in the mix. They weren't too loud but took me through the tune listening to them more, due to their placement. You just gave me an idea for these great tabla and Hindu flavors I have in the Origins library for GS3. The metal sounding drums seem to have a mesmorizing effect. I would like to try random gated reverbs that go from with gate, to without gate randomly to bring the metal sound in your face a little more without adding attenuation.

Totally unearthly space you have created.
Wonderful and foreboding.

Do you consider this finished or is it still a work in progress?

I liked it very much up to a point but after the first minute or so I wanted it to get really nasty and aggressive with a clattering downpour of metalic percussion and forboding atmospheric sounds.

Sort-of like somebody sticking your head in a metal trash can and then repeatedly smashing it with a garage door :D

Very nice though, as others have mentioned the placement of the drums/percussion is excellent.

How could we collaborate by adding parts to say a groove like the one above? Is there a way for adding to someone elses idea and extending it? This would be a cool way to have a sharing of ideas. A jam thread of sorts. This could be a great way for guys to share ideas I think. Which leads to another question. Are there any SFP babes other than Anna Luse at the Z?
