Greetings everyone.
New to the forum, although I have been lurking for a few days.
I am in the process of switching my studio's DAW setup to a Samplitude / Scope 4.5 environment.
I have been running a MOTU 2408/1224 system with a pci324 interface card.
The main tracking system is based around a Mackie SDR24/96 Hard Disk Recorder. From there either some or all tracks are transferred into the computer for editing/mixdown in a DAW such as Protools or Digital Performer (The studio has been Mac based up until now)
Sync has been achieved using the ADAT 9-pin protocol which the pci324 supports rather nicely. Especially when using Digital Performer.
Now, I was hoping to be able to use the MOTU hardware as well asthe pci324 card in conjunction with the Scope Project card that is being installed inside the new system. Thus continuing to use Samplitude as the main sequencer which could lock to ADAT 9-pin sync via the pci324 interface.
Will this work, or am I asking for trouble trying to run both cards in the same system as such. It would be great to continue using my MOTU hardware, as it is quite flexible in regards to multiple ins/outs & sync capabilities.
On the other hand, if this is not an option ....... Can I sync Samplitude & the Scope 4.5 system to the Mackie Hard Disk Recorder by using an added SyncPlate to the Project 4.5 card?
My hope in this case would simply be to replace the pci324 with the SyncPlate.
Any and all feedback would be most welcome.
Great Forum by the way! Very informative.
