Vocal reduce or Remove

Post by chriskey88 »

I have recorded a meeting, but there is a lot of background noise, unwanted noise, feedback, static etc... Is there a program that I can use to edit those out?

you can try with denoising or maybe with phase cancellation.

In Audition there is possible to record a noise floor, then you can clean the track from this noise. Works best of course where the noise is constant - like a guitar amp.

the latest version of Wavelab is said to do wonders in this context (with a graphic 'spectral' editor).

cheers, tom

I did it before. I used FlexiMusic Wave Editor to do it using Noise reduction Effect to remove the unwanted noise.

Adobe Audition 2.0 has the spectral editing as well, and imo it's a bit more integrated than Wavelab's (which is a 3rd party app they're basically including as a menu option now). Mind you I use Wavelab myself so I'm not just trying to push my favorite editor. :P

I believe there's a trial version for windows near the bottom of this page, if you can get past the annoyances of the modern adobe website (their code makes Firefox hang here for several seconds on each page load, annoying flash menu crap!)
