The dangers of Nuclear Power and the future of minkind

I hope this is not going too far, but I am really anxious about the latest news on nuclear power. The entire world is threatened by this madness in an unusual way, technology is everywhere and anyone can do it. We have worried about nuclear danger for ages so we got perhaps used to accept that nothing is going to happen, because psychological thread has been used hundreds and hundreds of times, we simply don’t longer believe in these strategies. Now, I am in most cases a very positive, optimistic person, but I am not this time, I truly fear the rising of misunderstandings, stubbornness and criminal petrol interest, and therefore the actual use of nuclear power. I am not kidding.

We are all doomed but then again we aren't going to live that long anyway as individuals so I guess it doesn't really matter. I know that a cockroach will survive and start it over.

there are plenty of underground cities for the special elite people, don't worry. it's just us reg'lar folk who are in trouble. it's a pity. there'll be no one left but the scum eugenicists to live with the roaches.

I couldn’t agree more... Unfortunately this is the very problem, “values”, because the incredible energy produced by anomic energy is indeed useful when it is huddled with care and there is no violence in between.

Politics no longer matter, parties, ideologies, it is a basic survival issue we are facing here.

Today anybody can be powerful, even if it has not human values and principles. If you work hard based on a good luck and lots of money background, or if you are a fox, intelligent enough to deceive people in vast scales, you can become a powerful man, and so influence the world. This is the problem with money. When money didn’t exist, people would interchange things and that would keep things into a harmonious equilibrium, there was a clear limit of “usability” on what you could have, but today we find there are extremely reach people that do nothing with their money, just having it in their banks to feel comfortable and secure, some of them use it in the jet set society, which is also quite silly. This is not a communist idea, I don’t believe at all in communism personally, but a simple idea taken from our ancestors of thousands of years ago. This happened for instance, between the Vikings for a long time, till money started to show, the same in the ancient dynasties of China. In those early days, a rich man was somebody who could have lots and lots of things to interchange, but there was a clear limit, and the limit was to “USE” those things, this is quite natural I think, as it is directly related to what you can produce.

Covetousness and thirst for power is going to spoil the entire game of live in the Earth I think, if we go on and on with this incredibly childish thing. And only because there here extremely powerful people that being blind with their power, want more and more and infinitely more power... it seems they will never feel satisfied till they destroy their on habitat.

In the other hand, if these atomic disasters really take place, we are going to be forced to finally put a stop to so much cruelty and madness among us, sadly, through the wrong means. We will finally understand that life should have been different, and values will change completely for us. We will find that the most important things in life, the truly important ones are love, friendship, sincerity, family, spirituality, union between people and nations, and so forth, and the others values that today seem to be so popular, will become weak and futile.

People will always be selfish and have bad values. Why would this suddenly change? It wouldn't be such a bad thing if eveyone vanished.

I understand your point Brain, you've probably seen too much in this life, but we can still hold some hope. I have hopes on people because we can much more than we can see in the surface. I too sometimes, loose hope, typically, when I see the news... but when in touch with people, you'll alwyas find somebody that will inspire you in the oppostit way, giving you some hope back, that mankind can actually do great things.

it'll be so funny if n korea's whole nuclear program was just one of jong il's publicity scams.. but alas, I guess he does have some toys. I can never figure out what he wants to do.. I mean, can he seriously think he can take over the world, or something along that line? Does anyone even really want to do that anymore?

Or is it more of an ego thing, like he just wants to appear powerful. I dunno, I think he's better off directing his private team of cheerleaders. Has that been brought up in the news? It's been brought up alot in Japan. Jong Il has a private team of dancers that exist solely to praise him. And the girls actually audition to get in the "dream team". lol.

It's a big concern for the region and he does seem insane. My feeling is that this as a hoax as there was no radio active gas leaking out and the blast was much smaller than the North Korean government said it was going to be. Yet Russia made a bomb a long time ago so it will be possible for them to do this eventually I think. One reason we are all so worried is the speed and power of the media. For reasons of money, power and ego, the media wants us all to be constantly upset. If they launch a bomb at anyone they will be invaded for sure.

people are not always selfish and with bad values, but that is encouraged these days.

change is inevitable. nothing remains the same, no matter what things seem.

i am a person and i love myself and others. it would be a shame if great numbers of people die. many feel that way.

n. korea has been said to have nukes for some time now and they've threatened to use them several times. n. korea has hit alaska with a test missile. this stuff it not new. it was D Rumsfeld who made the original deals to bring them reactors years ago.

I had to dig deep into the papers today, to find any notice of this, so it's probably allready forgotten.
I believe a big bang will end our system (both scope and solar) as a big bang started the whole thing in first place
(not shure scope was made that way)

...and i hope it take some time
