Bad noise from ASIO2 24bit (only 1L) on boot
Hey, when i boot up my computer, after creamware have loaded up, i get this terrible noise from the Asio2 24bit device.. sounds like some bad digital noise.. that are maxing the volume and screaming out on the speakers.. it dosnt act like a normal sound comming from a source.. because tuning down the volume dosnt help the sound are getting out anyway.. but after a short time.. it settles.. and everything works as normal. is this a knowen problem??

i have a ad/da converter connected to the adat, and some gear connected to the adat box. i have also connected a pair of active monitores on one of the creamware analouge outputs. it happends during the last stage of the boot up (when all the traybar apps get loaded), i have disabled as much programs as possible. So except thoes few programs that fires up, are there no other programs. I will try to do a save with mixer volume off, and test.

and this time it came from the 24 Bit wave source 1, and if i turn down the master volume it mutes.. but i can see the action.
and belive me.. this is NOT transients

that's what I had in mind - it was an ironic comment, about a digital click from minus to plus infinity ...On 2006-10-09 09:54, ehasting wrote:

I hopefully understood correctly that the 'process' happens only after powering up the PC, shortly before Scope is fully loaded - then the (more or less) partly initialized Wave device does it's annoying noise (?)
A project may change (it's hidden content), Windows DOES change how it handles 'drivers' or their buffers, or it's memory housekeeping or whatever.
At least I remember that once wave1 source had mysteriously died from one day to the other - no chance to reactivate it.
Ok, I replaced it by wave2... it's a complex OS and (imho) strangely organized, so I didn't bother about the dead source - the next install washed it out anyway.
But the rule to switch monitors on only AFTER all has settled still applies.
The system state is unpredictable and it's just pure chance that you didn't notice anything before.
Imho it's not - you wouldn't plug an external reverb into an active recording channel, would you ?Anyone know if that device is buggy??

cheers, Tom
