I don’t want to spoil your start at all, just give an alternative to the idea of doing nothing.

For me the idea of “killing the time of your life” seems extremely sad and outmost contrary to my values. I have never liked the many readymade phrases that there exist in all the languages of the world telling the same idea.

My alternative is to think about your life and give to it a little more importance through thought. There are too many important things a human being can do and if you feel bored, is just because you are not aware of how much you can do, give, know, enjoy and produce, for you and the world.

The idea of killing your time is rather crazy, think about your life, build some truly important goals think of a plan to follow through and get to work, it is infinitely more rewarding than killing your time.

It is great to enjoy playing a game, or go to the cinema, or pass four hours speaking about anything just for the sake of it, but not because you need to kill your time. If you kill a second, you will soon have lost a minute, and then a day, and then a week, and then a year... isn’t your life worth the best possible soul and spirit investment? I think that every human life is extremely precious, and what we do is quite different from what we are able to do, and the only difference at the end of the day, is if you did it or not.

Is there anything you think you are able to do? Is there something you find difficult but that it would make you very happy to achieve? Well, do it! There is a proverb that says: “There is nothing impossible in life, but incapable people to do them”.

well, playing these tiny games is a good way to kill time.. to think of WHY some are absorbing, and others just plain dumb, is also a good time killer.

this one works very well, because of the way the levels progress. there is a logic cohesion in the way things elaborate, so you are faced with a "bit" of a new challenge every time, but not quite something you are incapable of. That's good game design I think.

As soon as it gets illogically random, you sort of loose your apetite since you can't form an internal representation of the game "world". And so the experience becomes discontinuous, as your internal representations of the different instances of the game are not connected to each other.

Sort of a deep way to think of a game, but with all the crap that's out there, you'd wonder what makes a good one tick. And coincidentally, I'm helping out with implementing tv advert web games right now. The one I'm working on went bad when the budget was cut, but I'm trying to come up with some good ones for next time.

What's tough is, dexterity / hand-eye coordination games are instantly addictive, but seems only to work on mosly men. So there's the other side of mini games, puzzles.. those aren't much of a turn on, but a large population still seems to like them over dexterity games. Probably more mature, pre-nintendo folks. So, the balance is hard to strike...

I have lost days to this

It takes a bit of getting used to, how the game actually works, but OMG how addictive is it. Seriously, prepare to lose all your freetime

I never play games, but I also sometimes need the time-killing-mode, just to reload.
I prefer sports, or hanging at a bar, or take a coach sleep, or eh... play a game
No, it's just about the ratio between productive and unproductive time, and even that is personnal
A genious is someone who produces one single super track in one month and goes out fishing for 11 months (or, staying inside, plays games)
I produce more than that, but these tracks are not genious, I don't fish, and don't game, so who's killing time

Blast Billiards is quite addictive if you like a game of pool.

Been too busy to play it recently, but my high score is 2965 & sharcs' is over 3000.

Hmmmm..... The previous link did not work as expected, so try this:
http://www.infinitewheel.com/

There are quite a few different dub tracks to interact with. Lots of fun. I got told off at work for playing this site too loud at lunchtime. So play it loud, peeps, and enjoy yourselves.
