OK, so i load a device, any device that can use inserts - STM for example - and i right click on the insert slot to add an effect. All i get is the pop-up "Insert>" and nothing to the right of the arrow - where's my list of devices gone? i can drag 'n' drop devices OK but i need it to work to use BlackBox 'satellites' which aren't drag 'n' drop.

Anyone got any suggestions, other than a complete re-install which i am currently trying to avoid? Anything in the registry that i can tweak?

My set-up:
SCOPE 4.5
Pulsar2+, SCOPE SRB, PowerSampler
PC: Windows XP Professional SP2
ASUS P4P800SE, Dual 3.2GHz Pentium4, 1 GB RAM

Is this a occuring problem after restarting?

Try checking the .ini file under /Bin-directory.

Also check if your device catalog is intact.

Try loading devices via File Browser - pulling them into the inserts.

did you rename something on the disk, or drag a folder by accident ?
looks like it's lost it's pathname - I wouldn't consider it a reinstall

cheers, tom

you can enter/check the path to the effects in the settings panel.

Looking at the cset.ini file there is no path for effects - is this what i am missing (there is no path in the SCOPE Directories settings). i have this:

[STATICPATH]
Samples=C:/Scope/Samples/
Presets=C:/Scope/Presets/
Modules=C:/Scope/Modular/
Modular=C:/Scope/Modular/
Devices=C:/Scope/Devices/
Projects=C:/Scope/Projects/

do i need to add a line to the effect of (sic)

Effects=C:/Scope/Effects

here, or maybe somewhere else?

no, there is no effects path in the settings.
A re-install of SFP mostly works in case of this kind of problems, I once lost the menu bar of Scope for some reason, it takes a few minutes (or 15), backup all relvant stuff first.
No registry on mac tho, so no problems with re-installing usually.
Dunno how's this on pc :smile:

One thing:
Effects must be inside the Devices directory of scope or sfp.

for ex:

/Scope/Devices/Effects/ (and then, either /Mono/ or /Stereo/ )

(ps: satellites normally work by drag and drop)

Yeah, C:/Scope/Devices/ IS the effects catalog. And as noted, inserts only read from the Devices/Effects/ catalog.
