I'd make the Octamic-D your system sync master as it has a superb internal clock. Send adat from it to your Pulsar2 & connect adat both ways between your Emu & Pulsar2 and both ways between A16 & Pulsar. Set the Emu, A16 & Pulsar to slave & the RME to Master. The RME's clock will pass thru to your Emu & A16. I'd advise running at 44.1 throughout.

Shroomz is right regarding the cabling - it's your only option.
According to the RME site the Octamic D cannot sync to external Adat, only to wordclock or AES.

S you'll have to make it master, sync Scope to it and slave the Emu and A16 to Scope (as they cannot 'see' the Octamic.
Not perfect, as the RME will be a few samples ahead of the Emu and A16, but the clicks will be gone.

Makes me wonder - did you intend to use the D's high sample rates or is it pure chance that you got this version ?

Well I needed 8 good microphone preamps, so I've chosen the octamic-d, cause I have the older Pulsar II ADAT version. (and a pulsar I)

Hmm ok...well that would solve the problem thanks....but I wonder if the Pulsar is running stable as a slave. Well I know it should, but I rember beeing my emu the master...and it didn't work out too well. Hm I try it.

In't it possible to sync over S/P-DIF....I thought the older Pulsar have that....or do I need the sync plate...probably yes... I guess..

thanks a lot guys..

oops, I erroneously assumed the Octamic would have a 'regular' adat converter and the D-version was for an extended sample range of up to 192 khz.
As mentioned above RME is known for excellent digital performance, so the Pulsar should not have any problems syncing to it.

You may check if the RME can supply it's master clock via BNC, then a sync plate would indeed make sense, as the A16 and the Emu (I assume it has BNC) could be synced to that same source.
Take care at proper cables (75 Ohm) and termination

cheers, Tom
