I do use Pulsar2 and do have a Problem with the midi recording from midi keyboard.I use cubase SX3 and the first 5 minutes all is ok,after using some vsti software its like when recording midi notes it does not correctly record in the synchronised correct time. it does record with latency, even when i quantize doesn't help. that means too late recording.
But always when i new open or re-open Cubase it works good till after some time it does it again. i go crazy with it!!!

Before i had problems with pulsar2 in its own midi, when i use pulsar2's own midi port the computer freezes after a time that can be 1 or 2 or 5 hourse later or sometimes after 5 min. I solved that part with buying a cheap Live value sound card and use it for midi input(actually its a shame buying such expensive Pulsar2 card and working with other cheap sc's midi ports).

Well what i tried:
i tried other pci slots and many times installed the driver and scope software wich is 3.1a 3.1c 4.0 4.5 its all the same with all the versions of the drivers. And also i tried Ablethon live and it did the same problem. that mean it does not come from the daw softwares. there is something wrong on the drivers or with the pc configurations. i did all the tune for the best performans on my pc.
1 year ago i did not have this problem. in that time i used another pc with P3-600 mhz 512 mb ram.

Now i use this computer: P4 3.0 Ghz Lga 1mb l2 cash,Gigabyte Mobo with intel i865pe chipset,512*4= 2 gb ram,250 GB Seagate HD,256 mb asus fx5500 gr.card, all upgrated drivers for integrated cards as well for dvd writer wich is also asus!

Now can somebody on this planet help me out about this problem?

Thanks much in advice!

go to start/programs/accessories/system tools/system information/hardware resources/conflicts-sharing and tell me what is sharing an irq with the scope card.

I had a similar problem recording midi through NOAH. I solved the problem by checking the "use system timestamp" somwhere in the Device menu.

Yep, use system timestamp. It's in the midi section in device setup.

Basically they(Steinberg) say that a problem comes from the directx midi.Go onto the Steinberg site for further details( In the Knowledge Base). In SX3 Device setup/midi/windows midi there's a box which says use system timestamp so the midi synchronises to the system and not asio/wave drivers.I've found it helps.
