I hooked up a ADA8000 to the Optical in and out but audio apps do not see the ins and outs. The mixer in scope will get a signal from the input but not apps. I'm sure it's something stupid I've missed. Any help would appreciated.

Webby, did you load the hardware and software IO's, then interconnected them?
This is not a problem, it's a feature of Scope: apps only see software IO, only Scope sees both hardware and software IO on the card. It's a users' task to hook them up. Or did I misunderstand your problem?

ADA8000 is set as slave

I Added a ADAT Sourse module and a ADAT Dest module and conected them to the mixer. Have I missed something else?

Let me rephrase my question.
How would hook up modules in the routing window so that my audio apps (Cubase and Guitar Rig) will see the ADAT ins and outs?

they can't see adat outs!
cubase can see asio i/os.
connect the asio i/os to the adat ios and you're in business, or better yet, put a mixer inbetween.

Thanks for the help. I got her going. This routing stuff is kind of heady but once I get a handle on it I can see that there's a lot of possibilities.

Again thanks

Don't stop exploring the routing possibilities there by any means.
