Anyone Using Chicken Systems Translator?
Unfortunately I have to convert my own samples now, I didn't think this would be a big deal until I called the company. Damn,....I am spoiled by all of you gentlemen here who helped me through these turbulent times with SFP. But it works great, and I have used it live and continue to buy more DSP's and learn as much as I can. This fuckin' jerk off at Chick.SYS. obviously doesn't want me to get the Pro version. He insults me with this condescending tone saying, " Until you learn to use a computer, don't call me back until then??!!! They must be owned by TaSCAM!! If anyone here uses this program PM me, 4 I have an offer to make, fuck that sniveling bone rack at Chick SYS, I will never call his assHolyiness again. I have never been so insulted from someone I have purchased software or hardware from. He needs some manners from John Bowen, or SpaceF, or ReD_MuZe, or any of you gents that I have corresponded with. Actually I think he needs a blow job worse than any white man in history!!!!
Yours Angrily,
Yours Angrily,
I have a shitload of Sonic Reality Akai stuff. I used it 4 the EMU's back when. But all I asked this guy was how to load the actual program, as I installed it on my DAW from another DAW. It has a shortcut icon, but when I click on it, it is more like a help menu fior the lame, which I'm afraid is me. Seriously, this guy is suffering from too much customer service or something. I always tell people that I am a performer who ghas lost his way in the world of DAW's, usually they understand and try to assist. Thanks 4 your concern Brotha'Man Nestor.

There is a program called Samplit:
http://www.cdxtract.com/samplit.php
but I'm not sure this one could solve the problem, because it only handles up to 8 formats. Perhaps you could substitute one format from another? Well, just in case.
Now, you have the one you're talking about "Translator", this one does many format conversions. As a destination indeed, it does GigaStudio, but I coudn't find out if it does version 3, I found that it does version 2.
Well, not much help from me, but I know there are people here that will be able to help, sure. Good luck!

Re Giga: Once you have your samples in Giga format in the Quick sound database, you right click in that section......where the instruments are listed ... on the left. There is a command that says "Convert all samples to Giga 3". Just click on that.
Sorry I can't help with Chicken Sys.... the guy was being a tosser to say something like that.

The SConverter in GS3 doesn't recognise AKAI discs. I grow weary of trying. Each new upgrade of GS3 Orchestra just causes malfunctions somewhere else in the application itself. I am happy with the app. as a sample player, and GPulse is great 4 resonant body ambience 4 acoustic samples. But Blue Tubes VST was sold to me with bugs, and TaSCAM can suck my ass, 4 they are as bad as Chicken Systems when it comes to customer service. I bought into SFP 4 I watched it blossom like this forum has. The personal touch added by 3rd party developers has spoiled me. I can't believe I have supported so many companies in the past by spending vast amounts of cash on good kit, not knowing that our community is the only one with real customer support. 4 this, I will never stray. Everyone else can do a lipstand on my one eyed worm as far as I'm concerned. CW, PlanetZ, Zarg, Celmo, SpaceF, Wolf are where it's at, only when we stray does reality take it's humbling effect.

If you have no luck with this program....
There's CDXtract
I haven't used it ... but might be worth your while having a look at it.

You are right about Giga not recognising Akai samples. No point trying. What you must do first is convert these samples to Giga format using third party software. Or load them as indidual wave files into Giga.
You can't convert to Giga 3 until they are in an earlier Giga format....... that is my understanding.

I got it working, but it's conversions are far from the sound that Akai had, when I used it on the Emulators III, and IV Turbo. I just got reamed by this junk product. Maybe Professional is the way to go. But that guy was so rude I will never spend another dime on their products no matter what they come out with. That is how I show my respect. Shopping elsewhere. The same goes 4 Gigasampler, and TaSCAM. They will never see another penny from me again, ever. When someone comes out with a better sampler, even VST, I will go their way. I cannot stanmd to see a company thrive after having such terrible customer service. We are just spoiled I guess from the platform we relish.
