I run Gigastudio 3 straight in Scope with a nice piano sample and it sounds terrific but when I run it in Rewire mode through Cubase it introduces distortion even when bringing the Cubase faders down especially with great velocity on the keys, no clicks or pops just a sound like too much signal. Why does Scope handle it beautifully and when running along side Cubase it sounds like garbage? My Daw is very fast with three SATA drives so I can't that being a problem...

just to mention it - a drifting (or not properly synced) digital clock also produces a distorted sound. It's not necessarily due to the volume.

cheers, Tom

I don't think this is the case if the same system with the same clock source performs well out of Cubase.
I think that Cubase is to blame or Rewire, I don't use Rewire or Gigastudio so I can't say what's happening, but have you checked if there is some double monitoring or any MIDI doubling anywhere? See if any other Cubase users on their forum has the same problem as yours....

Actually I've discovered that it is still happening even without Gigastudio running, mostly with piano samples when I play with more velocity..could it be my controller settings? I'll try a Giga forum...Thanks

could be the controller settings or it could be the velocity sensitivity in giga....
