Let's Send SFP/Modular and SDK to North Korea
These beggars have nothing better to do than enslave their people, and prepare them 4 a war that will never take place. A sick society that needs help. Since CW was helping to raise funds for the Tsunami victims, which was a very noble cause, why not send N.K. some cards, and probably computers too, since they can't even feed their poor asses, and let the frustration, and love 4 SFP begin there. I can't imagine waking up there and having to prepare 4 war every day, when one could be making modular dreams instead. When I was a kid, they brainwashed me also. Those little drills 3 times a day for nuclear strikes from Cuba and USSR. We would get under our desks and goose each other seemingly unaware that missiles were on their way. It didn't work then, and it won't work now. But even as adults the N.K.'s still talk all that stupid shit, like when they were children. So if any nation needs some foresight and help, it's these poor bastards.
Greetings to everyone on PlanetZ, thanks to John C for giving us this great gathering place, and excuse me for my underpracticed English. Hi to S4L as well, I reckon your enthusiasm towards life and sound, I'm sure you're as funny as a musician buddy can be, BUT...
I noticed several of your signatures, and now this last post (which was too much to stand for me), as severely showing your US-framed mindset and world-view.
It's obvious that the poor folks (information and culture-wise, not only $$) around the globe would love not having to worry about wars, hunger, injustice and so on, and just indulge in making art through whatever mean they'd choose to express themselves, freed from daily troubles.
What seems NOT so obvious to US, "lucky bastards" as is often said here, is that we are narcotized with techno-conforts, stuffed bellies and over-stimulated brain receptors, immerged in selfish microcosmos.
We're too busy keeping up with every new "information" the community/marketplace throws around to take time, analyze it and relate it holistically to what's REALLY happening globally.
Please don't take personal offence, in a way I'm using your post to point out what I fear is the main point in this unending spiral of personal pleasure at the expense of others, blaming them for their errors ignoring ours.
I have a similar opinion about most national leaders (including NorthKorea's, YOURS and MINE too ;-P ), they are so caught up in a fossilized view that allows each one of them to pass the blame on each other, just as long as they can keep their position and GAIN whatever they wish, be it an unreal earthly life totally removed from reality, the dream of "rightness" that'll open up the Pearly Gates. It usually boils down to power, both financial and military.
The main change I wish to see is in everyone's mind, with the abandon of this competitive and violent way of confronting other beings. Surely someone since our childhood showed us that it works, kick the other guy's ass as long as you're bigger and tougher and presto, you're the leader of the crew.
The point is: Where the hell is "our crew" led to? Do we really want to follow the footsteps of the pirates who've shown us this way?
As supposedly scholarized-informed human beings (I was about to say "citizens of the world") we should be on a higher plateau in respect to other animal species, but the predatorian way of thinking (well, actually more rehashing prepackaged "algos") we stick to isn't even comparable to a carnivore animal's. For one he can't be conscious of the effect of his deeds, but we are, sort of, but don't give a **** about anything NOT related to our poor, stinky, limited life.
Do you want our children to grow in hatred? Please blame everything that shows up as plain wrong, regardless of the side of the fence where it's grown.
The US's ideal strenght (I know the world still love this term, even if I find it alarming and childish) was supposed to be FREEDOM: Look under the carpet if you find any and spread it around, because the whole humankind needs it, but, alas, it doesn't mate with weapons and forced stances.
Thanks for your patience, fellow Shroomz was much more concise and funnier, but I was hurt and needed a lenghty puke!
Take care, on a side note, keep playing your heart out regardless of the benefits involved in the act.
Art hopefully will tie and liberate us all, or at least we'll be too taken by upgrading to SFP5.0 and demoing all the wonderful future plugs to notice the flash and the end of it all.
Bye to all, hope in the future would help each one out, everywhere.

okay, this was bound to happen.. part of the reason why extreme political posts are generally kept inside the mind and not the board. No biggie scope4live, seemed to be a careless mistake more than anything else, but just curve the edges a bit next time, or lay easy on whatever you were having at the time. (chocolate? lol) Same goes to all subsequent posters too.

Honestly, I suppose any western technology would probably be requisitioned and used by the Communist dictature to make anti-capitalist musical propaganda and then put on the music thread. You think that sounds funny,no it's definitely not.Alot of people have died, and will continue to do so in the name of freedom and democracy.
p.s
I'm so gonna regret this.

well, on this side of the border we have 4000 each year who do it in the name of freedom for free mobility (for free citizens, as it's named)...On 2006-06-19 11:23, H-Rave wrote:

assuming the rest of the victims (about 3000) had just bad luck.
what would you expect in 'large scale' if people don't even act responsible in their personal surrounding ?
today there are flags on cars because of the world championship in soccer - what flags will it be tomorrow ?
not that I'm against fun and passion in sport, but I smell a strange mixture of hysteria, hype and dumbness.
we just lack someone like the (in)famous director j.g. for the next episode...
anyway, I only recently watched an interesting TV feature about N.C.
Fascinating, as there's almost no coverage at all about that country.
Those people seemed to believe what propaganda told them (in an almost complete isolation) - and would appear brainwashed to us.
But how much does it take to wash any brain ?
cheers, Tom
sending Sharcs (and a few other tech goodies) to N.C is considered a crime in this part of the world btw - not sure if Scope4Live intended to kid about that fact

First of all my apologies for my country (The USA), about the way we act around the world, starting wars, and being generally paranoid. the killing of 2,000 Americans caused us to kill 40,000 people who didn't even have anything to do with 911. I do not think any human being should have the right to kill another. We have laws about that here but it's too bad that those laws don't apply to the government, only the citizens. You know who is killing Americans? Americans kill Americans each and every day. Our enemy is ourselves.
The missile thing in North Korea is scary. It seems like really bad timing because of all the other wars going on. You think oh no not another potential conflict. Maybe world reaction to it isn't helping matters any just making everyone feel more sick.
Kensuguro, if politics and discourse bother you then you don't have to read the thread. "Off Topic" means anything.

No need to apologise Braincell, but you speak as if your governments' actions are on behalf of the American people. They are not. They are unfortunately on behalf of higher causes than the American people. On 2006-06-19 15:34, braincell wrote:

killing one another for one reason or another is one thing, but mass murder is another. Statistically, the US Gov' may well be approaching the status of being the biggest mass murderers of all time.I do not think any human being should have the right to kill another.

They've provided most of the guns & most of the drugs in your police state. (believe it or not)
I think N.K are being setup ... by your government. The missile thing in North Korea is scary. It seems like really bad timing because of all the other wars going on. Please don't feel attacked Braincell. These are only my personal opinions on what you've said & the points you've made.
I could say more, but by 2.50am I've had a couple, so it could lead to screeds of non-sensicle waffle, which we have enough of.
Bush still has a 30 percent rating. That's a lot of people who agree with him. Many people blame Bush for what has gone on but clearly he is just doing what 50% of voters wanted him to do. I blame the half of all American voters who are total idiots to have voted for him twice. Either Gore or Kerry would have been slightly better especially on foreign matters.
I might add I have nothing against the people of any Dictature, banana replublic whatever. It's the governments attitudes I find offensive. Even in France we came that close to having Jean Marie le pen(National Front),and I find it quite ironic that the only reason it exists is because of democracy and a very flawed voting system(My own point of view ).I don't think any country should brag about being democratic, when it's clearly not the case.I find it particularly arrogant.
