I am looking for a firewire 400 audio interface for a mac book, will get it this week, hopefully.
I need it for live music and I need Midi in/out and two audio pairs.
RME and motu write their own drivers, all others use the same software, at least I heard that.
But the RME and motu things I know have lots of I/O´s that makes them way too expensive, I would never use them all.

Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks ahead.

Chris, the new Focusrite Saphire looks like an excellent buy. It's packed with features inluding AC3 & DTS encoding to its digital out. Check it out. For £230 or about 350 euro it looks like a bargain.
