Which Orchestra Library you suggest?

Sometimes dreams come true.
With some luck I´ll get a booking to make a film score for a motion picture.

I don´t know what music they prefer, yet. Talks start in few weeks.

In the case they want orchestral music, which library you suggest me?

Browse through it and I believe you will find your answer or at least get an overview of your options which aren't that many.
The best, most complex and certainly most expensive seems to be Vienna Symphonic Library:

And then there's this:

Which is very cheap compared to VSL, not as complex and yet people seems very satisfied with it.

Those two mentioned are the two I'm considering on buying.

The East/West Silver/Gold/Platinum series appears to be a favourite of soundtrack composers, but I haven't used it myself. I do have the cheapie Garritan Personal Orchestra which has some nice tones, but isn't going to fool anyone.

The other other library I've heard very good things about is Synful. The control and expression available on that is meant to be very impressive:

imho the answer can only be EMU Proteus-2 (or Proteus Orchestral)...
because if they are smart, they'll want sounds by ChrisWerner and not by ChrisZimmer

if you send these old strings and quartetts through your NI rooms or whatever it will be a perfect match.

Thank you for your support, I haven´t got any details about the movie so far. I was just asked to collaborate on the music. It should be a 180min movie.
I´ll know more within the next days.

compliments GPO very well...can get both for not
much more that Eastwest Gold.

The VSL Opus stuff is just about affordable and really good. I'm not sure how the prices have changed for the new VST integrated versions, but I used the old Gigasampler+PerformanceTool version. I've never experienced portamento strings in the same league as the VSL stuff. The other instruments sound really good as well.

If you're serious about orchestral stuff you still need the knowledge about panning the soundstage and intelligent layering (there's no shortcuts for this). I don't have such needs - I was just experimenting with some string parts. However it still sounded great.

I have a feeling you really need to get creative with processing and layering so that it doesn't sound too monotonous on every project.
