I use a Luna II card for audio recording mostly and had a worn input jack (one channel stopped working after years of use.) After contacted Creamware they wrote back and said to either send it to Germany or take it to a local eletronics tech and to replace the jack with a standard part from Radioshack. Since the latter route was much cheaper I had the jack replaced. Everything works fine except now I have what sounds like EMF noise coming from the Luna Audio Source. The card is about ten times noisier than it was before for recording. Before with the defective jack (though I had only one channel) the card was near silent.

The new input jack looks different than the old one. The noise sounds like a shielding problem. Could this be the choice of part used for the replacement input jack?

I guess it is the bad soldering job... try to wipe the soldered place with pure alcochol.

Thanks for the suggestions. I guess I'll look into getting an exact replacement for the broken jack and have the tech take another look at the solder job on the current one.
