CC7 VST midi CC Transformer

In response to a request by CH, I've come up with this handy little VST device.

CC7 VST Midi CC Transformer

CC7 is a VST device which takes incoming midi volume control (midi cc 7) and allows you to select which midi cc you want the controller data to be sent out as.

Installation Instructions

1: Extract 'CC7alpha.zip' to C:Program Files and open the extraced folder

2: Copy the 'CC7' folder to your VSTplugins directory

3: Startup your VST compatible host and load CC7 as either FX / VSTi

4: Enter the CC no. you want to send out into the text entry field

5: Set midi input to CC7 and midi out to the midi device you wish to control.

Hey no worries. It's a shame you can't use it, but no problem on my part because I owe you a thank you for giving me the kick up the bu*t needed to build something I'd been thinking about for 3/4 weeks

We're working on adding selection of the automation CC, IE the one listened for (in this case CC7). It might be better to add a learn function though, so we'll see. Might do an expanded version with multiple controls & maybe even a built in Lfo or 3 Not sure, but maybe a version with a virtual pitch wheel & mod wheel added would be cool, especially if they also had selectable CC's on the outputs. Really basic stuff, but could be handy for anyone using a VST host.

If anyone finds a bug or has suggestions for different functionality, comments are welcome

I use Logic and it contains a transformer to do this task. Strange that Cubase does not.

I think Cubase does have some sort of transformer, but this would still be really useful (presets & automation).

Also I'm sure there are plenty of other vst hosts out there which don't have a transformer. I'm looking forward to checking out the bigger version you mention. LFO's would be nice and a joystick too please!

I'm pretty sure you can do stuff like this in Cubases' logical editor, but it's more tedious to set up & use.

I've just finished & tested a version with 3 knobs, midi learn funtion for all 3 knobs, assignable CC no's on all 3 outputs & a separate realtime value LCD for each knob. Just need to tidy up the graphics beofre releasing it later.

The next one could maybe have Lfo's & a Joystick, but that'll take wee while

You should make it so the input CC is variable. It would be useful for my wind controller which uses CC 2. I can do it in Cubase but for some reason on one of my computers I have to apply it to all midi instruments in the master section rather than just one. This could present a problem.

This single knob version will now get an update with the midi learn function added, but won't be ready till tomorrow some time as I'm busy tonight.

I think it's worth keeping the single version too, as I'm planning a full set at various sizes & complexity all the way up to a 32 knob version with built in Lfos & more.
