I've just tried out this amazing beauty, I am surprised nobody here has said anything about it. Or did I lose it? Well, it's superior quality sound, truly. Very nice indeed. Here you have some reviews:
Man, I’m over the moon… I had to come back to tell you how AMAZING this synth sounds…
The sample sounds coming with it are so well sampled that I have to assume IK deserve to be called “master synth creators”. The richness and fullness of the sound cannot be rejected by anybody; I think 100% of you would like it independently of the music stile you are devoted to. The sounds are pretty alive I would say, you load a patch and get inspired instantly, ideas comes to your mind flawlessly and you want more…
The variety of sounds is also mad, it covers anything. You can do whatever thing with it, a bit complex sometimes to find a needed sound, being so large… but it worth the search.
It is a bit heavy to the system, but not too much. I would compare it, in terms of system power used, to some big Kontakt libraries for instance. Many patches are heavy to load.
Price: I know it is a bit expensive, but it worth the price totally. I whish I could afford it, for sure I would be a candidate to buy it. Highly recommended if you don’t have a top level synth sample library already, you can buy it with your eyes closed.

well, I have sonic synth 1 with sampletank, and also sampletank2. Was thinking of getting sonic synth2, but still thinking...
The sonic synth guys have a distinct sound I think. Thye have like a Roland JV -ish sound. It works for some styles of music, at other times they just sound kind of cheesy. Well, atleast that's what I thought after I used sonic synth 1. Maybe a different guy produce sonic synth2 who knows. After listening to the sonic synth2 demos, I think it's it's pretty much similar to sampletank2.
The strange thing about the whole sampletank franchise is that I expected much more from 8 CDs worth of samples. I mean, a lot of the instruments are built with only 2 layers per note, and although they're sampled for all notes, the layer change is obrupt and obvious. I think hardware synth preset patches use smaller samples, but tend to be programed more efficiently.
But it's a good set to have. Like you say nestor, it's not as heavy as loading a bunch of Kontakt libraries so you can use it with ease.

I didn't know it was compared with Sampletank, in a way, one is the extension of the other I understand.
Si Sampletak using the same library?
My impression:
The sound IS very particular, indeed. That's why I found it very nice perhaps... it sounds quite different to anything I've heard before, and so, it may be the "new" that got my ear.
For fusion kind of sounds anyway, it would be a perfect companion.
Sonic synth2 is a library that uses the sampletank2 engine. It's kind of like kontakt libraries using kontakt player. Sonic synth2 can run with a playback only version of sampletank which is free.
yeah, definitely. Perfect for fusion. It works very well for non-electronic sounding stuff. Hold, I just got an idea.. check your mail.
