1. My creamware card has been functioning for about a month now (I've been playing around with the synth and sampler pack)

I recently installed cubase LE; after installing however it wouldn't open the application, and 2 errors poped up

1. Runner error, Runner file name (runner.dll) lacks A '' (the app id separator)

followed by

2. Scope Driver Iectl (1036) returned error code - 99 (cannot start software because boards or devices not installed)

Considering the scope project alone has been working fine, I have no idea what the problem is.

So I uninstalled the program, got cubase SX from a friend and the same error occured. expect this time another window popped up saying

(Hardware version 13 detected. This hardware requires a software update)

considering I only bought my card a month ago, the latest software is installed. If anyone has run into this problem or knows how I can fix it, it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks a lot,
sincerely,
matthew aaron

your hardware doesn't need any updates - that message pops up when a previously installed board cannot be found anymore, just as your first message said.

try updating the driver from device manager.
does this happen only with Cubase ? did you try other sequencers ?

can you get into cubase at all to be able to select the Scope as a sound card?

I tried updating the device from the device manager, (using the device driver from the cope cd win2x) It said I had the latest driver.

I used soundforge and audobe audition 1.5 (Both worked fine, and I recorded with soundforge)

Cubase won't open, while intializing the errors occur, and shortly after it disappears

probably not as I don't know much about Cubase
just the obvious things like SFP must be running before you start it and that asio source/destinations have to be in the project

First thing i Would suggets is:

Uninstall cubase and the scope software and the creamware drivers.
then reinstall the drivers
then install cubase
then install scope

when that is done open scope. then select the ASIO EZ record--or ASIO EZ playback
let it open

then open cubase

it should open fine
cept youll get a message about XTC

try that and come back

if asioscope is chosen in cubase and there are asio source and dest modules and sequencer midi source and destination modules are in the project BEFORE sx is opened it should work fine. the xtc error mentioned is easily eliminated by unchecking "activate xtc mode" in set/settings on the live bar.

All module's are set up correctly; however, I do know the problem is with the Asio, because when I try to set it up using the MME or Directx asio before opening cubase, it fails. As well, all other sequencer programs that I have work fine, it is only Cubase and Evolution, which both use ASIO that malfunction and do not open.

I am going to try messiah's method and reinstall everything hopefully that will work.

During setting up my new system (built by AndreD - many thanks!!!) I had a similar problem, but it could be solved by reading another thread here.
After installing Cubase VST 5.1, I wanted to set up this ASIO thing, but it was not possible. Also, Cubase didn't start.
Solution: In your Scope project you must have wave source and wave dest, because Cubase requires these ports at first launching.
Now you can change the audio settings in Cubase from ASIO MME to ASIO Scope.
As I said, it is the solution with the good old Cubase VST 5.1. If you have the newer Cubase versions, I can't help.

Cheers, Thomas

I did a complete re-format, and changed the placement of my scope board. Cubase is running fine. Thanks for all your help guys; It turn's out another software program that I had was interferring with cubase. Not sure which one it was yet, but as I re-install my software i'll find out and post it.
