Hi,

I've got myself a dual xeon 2.66 (512kb cache) with asus-motherboard and all, but my pulsar card doesn't seem to be willing to give any sound...

I've selected creamware as default device to playback audio, but windows media player gives me an error message saying the device isn't installed properly. It could be it refers to my onboard device which I disabled...

Anyhow, when trying to use the card in XTC mode in SX2 (plz don't start on using the SFP thing, I'm not going to )I can set it to the ASIO SCOPE driver, see the control panel etc., but it doesn't give any sound at all. When trying to reload the IOs, the system freezes (cubase not responding after a while).

SX2 is receiving midi input, but the synths nor the audio is playing and it doesn't give any activity on the VU meters...

Some additional info:
- i've set eveything (xtcproject.pro, csnet.ini, IRQ etc.) the way it should
- first I had installed the card with my onboard device enabled. I then re-installed the driver with the onboard device disabled. Now when opening SFP, it says "Can't find DSP file Midi Channel Filter - check installation" but it doesn't prevent SFP from opening.
- the card DOES play windows warning sounds however (e.g. when showing the above DSP-midi error)

Hope this is all clear...if you need more info to help me out, I'd sure be willing to give it to you. The card is a pain to install, but once it's running, you can only enjoy the devices which are on it...

So I really hope some of you can help me out on this one...! thx in advance!!

I mailed creamware support and got a swift reply, I have to say! I'll follow up their hints...when I know the outcome I'll post it here, so it can be of for the needy.

I can already tell you what they told about media player (scope platform needs to be running and the wave dest module connected...! - ouch, I feel silly now), so I assume the problems within sx are due to some settings which aren't right...

Will keep you guys posted.

It's always interesting when people venture out to new motherboards with different chipsets!

Good luck, I hope you'll make it work!
