The information about ACPI and stardard mode is quite confusion in the forum, as there are people that swear about it, and people that hate it... very confusion really, so, more information, or rather specific information is needed. If you can, give me a hand.

Well... I am building again my PC, and so, I am trying to do it as good as posible.

I have alwyas had the APIC and not the PIC anabled in BIOS. Do you think or know by fact, I should better change it to PIC mode, i.e., to standard PC.

MOBO P4PE
1GB Ram
for HD: two IDE and two SATA using FastTrak
Pulsar I Plus

I have experienced some noises lately, when I build the PC for the second time, have moved Pulsar to a new PCI with good results, no sharing IRQ, and it works fine.

So... what the hell do I want so? Obviously, better performance, if posible is. Please, help me as I have to get my system ready quite soon, thank you guys
