SM58 into A16 Ultra - pre-amp or DI box needed?

Do I need to use a DI box or mic pre-amp to plug an SM58 into an A16 ultra or can I just plug it in direct?

If I do need something, would a DI box suffice or do I really need a mic pre-amp?
