clics with scollbar

Hi
I'm 6 months old to PC and 2 to SFP, was 10 years with macs. I'm wondering if it's normal to have an increase of 20% of cpu just by using the scrollbar in cubase, live or reaktor etc...??? This also create clic and pops.
Is it the fact that my computer does'nt have an agp graphic card...(I'm using the onboard)
Will it help to have agp graphic ??? If yes what the best agp graphic partner with SFP pulsar2 and cubase sx ???

Also I did manage to get rid of pos and clic by changing pci slot but every time i first boot up there's was a little message box saying: installation error, Hardware version 16 detected. It requires a software update. After clic ok it's the add hardware then at the end a message saying : Hardware installation, The software you are installing for this hardware : Creamware pulsar 2, has not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with windows XP.
What wrong ? is there anything wrong ?

Is there any cons with my motherboard : micro atx intel D865GLC (3 pci)

In regards to the onboard graphics, your motherboard uses Intel Extreme Graphics 2 which shares onboard RAM with the rest of the system. A card like the Matrox g550 or similar would be a very inexpensive option and provide plenty of 2d performance for audio work (assuming you don't play 3d games or such).

When you see the message "this product has not passed windows logo testing" it simply means Creamware didn't pay the Microsoft 'fee' to have the driver listed as 'compatible'. Simply hit ok/continue (there's nothing wrong with the driver).

You might also go into your system BIOS (accessed by pressing a special key, typically a function key, on boot before the OS screens come up) and disable EVERY onboard device you're not using to minimize pci slot sharing. Assuming you're using WinXP and you do that you shouldn't need to do much more than move the Creamware card once or twice to a new slot (which you seem to have already done).

The idea was to build a kind of semi portable computer, was tired of low performance of laptops
the case is a Coolermaster ATC 620, with two seagate HD, dvd-r, P4 3.0...Shuttle LCD put that in a wallet and go...
But if I can't get rid of the clics, cracle 'n'roll, it will be my great crap first PC. Here I go' up my...
Tomorrow I will go and try a Maxtor agp...
I do a bit of music and sound design for film and I like to have a small quick time running in my session, what is the best graphic card to perform that???

Matrox G550, like mentionned previously =P

Should help with the clicks and pops, there's a few other things that you might want to check, like IRQ sharing, ACPI/Standard PC, and other PC voodoo odds and ends. CPU wise, if this happens with apps using ASIO, the 20% would be normal-ish, but the on-board graphics definitely didn't help.
