Hi guys, it looks like this got a little out of hand....for some reason?? I was not trying to 'impersonate', merely bring some humour to the Forum with me....Unfortunately, some of you didn't feel that way & my perfectly legal username has been changed for me... ;-(
Message from John Cooper:>>

I've confirmed with Moog Music that you are not, in fact, Bob Moog.
So, I've changed your username to "notbobmoog", and made some modifications
to your profile so that there is no confusion.

You have posted comments in which you appear to misprepresent yourself as
Mr. Moog.
I can understand being a fan of the man and his work- but this type of
impersonation will not be tolerated on planetz. Please don't cross that
line...

Regards,
-John
>>>>>
Below i've posted my reply to John for you all to read, as it explains to him that my intentions were geuine etc.>>>

Hi John,

I'm very sorry & quite dissapointed that
you feel that way. I must explain, as i sense
that you are annoyed about this.

Firstly, the username was in jest (hence,
lower case, all one word) &
not meant in any way other than this.

Secondly, as a newcomer to planetZ
(officially that is) the 'moogish' commments
were supposed to be open to interpretation,
yet still legal. I havn't broken the law,
have i ?

This was supposed to bring a little fun
to some of the people who are argueing
& falling out over such topics as Max v's M:M
& i'm sure has had many a Planetarian smiling.
That was the point....

My brother & i have been Creamware users
for years & my brother has been
a Planetz user for years also.

My email address (alias) ... bobmoog@.....
was registered 2 weeks before i joined planetZ. I'm telling you this, because i really was not taking the p**s & trying to specifically impersonate Mr Moog. Rather, it was a jestfull, abreviated alais which i set up weeks ago.

I'd appreciate if you have any further problems with my actions on PlanetZ, that you contact me to discuss the matter, as i'm an easy person to communicate with.

Best regards
Mark (notbobmoog) ....nice
.....
>>>>> Well, guys i'm sorry if i mislead anyone....but as you can see i am actually
'notbobmoog' ..... literally >;-)

Hope this clears it all up.
& Thanks for the new username John !!

Mark,

You're not winning any points with me by posting my private email on the forums.

I have a message from Moog Music explicitly asking your behavior be stopped. This is not a joke. You need to seriously consider that you are falsely using another company's identity, to endorse products made by that company's competitor. Sure, freedom of speech and all, but I would certainly not be surprised to see a legal order to "cease and desist" in this kind of situation.

Cheers,
-John

I want to go on record that I am NOT the prime minister of Canada!

To all canucks out there, I will not reduce your taxes, I will not send money to your respective provinces for health care, I will not admit I was implicated in this or that scandal and, most of all, I will not sell my boats!

Are we listening?..

Hey Stardust,
I detect some bad vibes or one-up-manship ???

Well, to be frank, there's still no explanation as to why i was allowed the username in the first place, especially as it was activated manually after an error registering.

Perhaps it was just an every-day name that you come accross & don't think anything of....?

Besides this, again i must apologise to anyone offended>>>

John,
i apologise prefusely for displaying your private email to me & anything else i've done wrong in the space of a few days.

Moogmuzic,
rock on.

Cheers

it seems you need a better vibes-detection apparatus NBM...apparently Stardust is the one who has some room left for encouraging you a bit...at least that's how I read his words...

I'd say, choose a new nick and start over again, not a big deal

At least now everyone knows who he is(n't)

Ahh infamy.....

I have kept away from these threads to keep from fanning flames, but for what its worth after spending some time on forums in general and IRC you'll see thousands of people using nicknames taken from known artists/actors etc. I've just grown to expect that people are NOT who they claim they are until proven otherwise. Of course PlanetZ isn't just any old forum either

But people did start big discussions on the nickname. I remember there were similar questions when, some years ago, I had moby's website as signature here, and I removed it on request. I learnt that some people really do believe moby would announce himself when visiting planetz.

Hey, if our bobmoog were for real we shouldn't be jumping on him like dogs. And in the other case it wouldn't be worth it

In both cases, the yes/no is an excess discussion

absolutely, atomic.

Actually, i've just realised that my new 'from'
field is reading 'Reality' ..... This is a rather respectable UK company name ...??
Not intentional, & hopefully not a problem
