I use 2 machines for making music. One is a laptop where I use a Tascam US-122 as my audio/Midi interface. Now when I want to record using effects plug ins no problem. I can use Effects in real time.
But in my other PC using Pulsar, when I use effects, I get a feedback kind of problem where the effect sort of folds in on itself (if that makes sense). What am I doing wrong? I have to have the mixer slider all the way down to zero or the signal feeds back on itself.
While I am here, I also have another question. I record in 24 bit on my laptop, but to do that in Pulsar do my Asio, ADAT modules have to be 24 bit, or is 24 bit recording dictated by my software apps like Logic/Cubase/Ableton.
I'll Ask Again. I hope someone answers this time.

Well,
What would be really nice is if someone could post a sample project for me. I have to admit i don't relly know what I am doing with Pulsar. There is no one around to help me and for me the manual isn't clear enough. I wish someone would write a book on the subject.
What I basically want is a way to access my external effects unit with 4 auxs. To also get my external synths in (4 inputs for that). Which I guess is done via ADAT. I want to be able to use my internal effects within my sequencer without them feeding back. That in essence is it. So could some one explain to me how I set that all up. Plus I want to be able to use a few synths within Pulsar.
I have 3 Pulsar cards and no real knowledge of how to use them. It's so frustrating!!! It is far easier making music on my laptop.
Help!!!!!!

My suggestion would be to start with vastly simplified default SFP projects when working on a tune. Don't use large/complex mixers and routings until you understand what they do and why you need them.
SFP isn't really that complicated once you wrap your head around it (sans a few phase bugs etc) but I can definately understand how trying to create complex routings between multiple pieces of software and hardware as an inexperienced user can create problems...

Starting simple is usually good advice, but it's frustrating not to use what is available. So I need a "complex" set up or otherwise I feel I have wasted my money all my external toys that I could use. I just need to have a set up shown to me and then I can get on with music making. Compromising is a cop out in this case (at least that's how I feel).
But starting simple will allow you to properly acccess all that complexity in due time... and do so without frustrating headaches when you don't know why things aren't working properly. We've all climbed the SFP learning curve and it isn't so bad as it seems. In fact what you're attempting to do you should be able to do within a month if not sooner...
